Silver or Gold Locket?

August 24, 2009

So Im planning on getting my girlfriend a locket for our 6 month anniversary, and I was looking at a few. The only really nice white gold one was about 200$ and I only have about 120$ to spend on it… I saw a few nice white gold lockets for about 90$ but they were all really small and you wouldnt be able to get a nice picture in it. But I saw a nice looking good sized one, however it was silver, not white gold, and Im pretty sure werent diamonds around it, probably cubics zerconium. But it was about 100$. Would you want a small white gold one, or a nice sized sterling silver one? I dont want to look cheap if I have to tell her its silver, I know it should be a big deal… but still, what do you think? Small white gold, or large silver?

silver all the way. its more versatile than gold.. u can wear it all the time… it will match with whatever outfit. and if she loves u she will love whatever you get for her

I have a heart that I used to wear from a chain around my neck, but I have since replaced it with a locket, but I have sentimental value with the heart charm. Is there anyway that I can take the charm and meld it with a bracelet to make it into one? I don’t mean to have it hang, but actually be a part of the links of the bracelet so it is one solid bracelet?
I also need to know where to go and how to ask them to do this

yeah i do that all the time..especially if i really like the charm bracelet and the charms are really cute or adorable.. usually i make it for my little nieces… they love it

I dunno why but I still have this 24 kt gold plated necklace with a locket that my first bf gave me a long time ago. The thing is ugly and I’m obviously not with him anymore…got over him years ago too. What should I do with the necklace? I was thinking of selling it but I dunno how much it’s worth.
I don’t really want it. I just don’t care about it.

SELL IT ON EBAY!!!!!!! I DID!

I bought a locket yesterday but the chain it’s on is way too short and so it sits really high up my chest. Where, in the UK, could I find a plain silver chain? Preferably quite long. Will ordinary jewelry shops sell them?
The locket itself is silver though, so it does need to be silver really.
=/

Ordinary jewelery shops will sell them, but I would suggest if you’re looking for something specific that you order it offline. Then you don’t have to go from store to store looking for a specific thing that they may not have (if it’s something special). Most jewelery stores sell silver chains of all lengths, and if not, they can probably find one, make one for you, or find recommend you to a store who does carry what you’re looking for. Also, some department stores carry long silver chains in their jewelery sections. (Or white gold. Depends on your taste.)

It was Valentine’s Day and my guy and I were on the verge of breaking up. He took advantage of an angst-ridden pause during The Big Talk to give me a hot pink vinyl collar with velcro closure and a tiny Silver Heart Locket attached to the front. He made some weak comment about having the key to my heart.

Needless to say, he didn’t.

my ex (25 at the time) bought me a bumper and hood for my car for christmas one year and then he wanted me to pay for it to be painted….that was not i was expecting at all for christmas after being with him for 2 years
