I’d really like the chain to be quite long, and the charms and locket to be pretty, I’m not really into little stones or anything, just nice querky charms 
And not too expensive. I’m from France, but if it’s from the UK that’s fine, as my dad will be able to collect it because he goes there often for work
Oh and if the locket could hold more than two pictures that would be a bonus.

I’m looking for a preferably gold locket. It has to be able to hold two pictures and only two. It doesn’t have to be in any certain shape (ie. heart, oval). It does have to be hand-made and the only of its kind. Where can I find something like that?
Contact a local jeweler who does custom work. They should be able to come up with something. Might have to wait a few weeks, but it’ll be worth it. Failing that, if you can find an artist who works in metals, they should also be able make one, and that will probably be more unique. It will cost quite a bit, though. I know I wouldn’t sell any of the lockets I’ve made for less than $300, and the lockets I’ve done in that you could put pictures in I wouldn’t part with for much less than $600–and I only work in silver.

I’m interested in antique jewelry. I’ve seen a few Antique Lockets with this symbol on them http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/ebayisapi.dll?vie… . Do you know what it means?
I don’t think it’s a monogram, because I’ve seen the very same sign on a few of them.
In the olden days, people used mourning lockets, say, with a lock of hair in them, to remember the dead. Could this be something about alpha and Omega (a Biblical symbol for Christ, the beginning and the end, like the start and end of the Greek alphabet)?
I have also seen some that look like an S with three Is superimposed — I thought of IHS, but not sure.

My husband gave me a beautiful locket necklace for Christmas, the only thing is that it is teeny tiny. So, my question is aside from Pictures is there anything else that is traditionally put inside lockets?
I have a locket and inside it I keep a lock of my childrens hair from their first haircut as a baby.
My mom has a locket and in hers she keeps a stone that fell out of her favorite ring.

its tarnished. you can get the tarnish off buy getting a certain kid of cloth from any jewlery store and rub the locket with it. the tarnish will come right off.
